Extraction and purification

We extract and purify plant compounds for research and industrial development.

Our process

We develop extraction processes in our laboratory and scale them for production.

  1. Extraction. Solvents dissolve the target compounds from the plant material.
  2. Separation. Further extraction removes unwanted components and concentrates the alkaloids.
  3. Purification. We purify voacangine and coronaridine by preparative chromatography at multi-kilogram scale.

Extraction methods

Extraction methods

Vacuum concentration

We remove solvent under vacuum. The lower pressure allows evaporation at a lower temperature, reducing heat exposure during concentration.

Enzyme-assisted extraction

We use enzymes to break down plant cell walls and help release compounds before extraction.

Solvent extraction

We mix plant material with a solvent to dissolve the target compounds. The liquid extract is then separated from the remaining plant material.

Solvent recovery

We recover solvents for reuse in extraction. This reduces the amount of fresh solvent needed and the volume of solvent waste.

Laboratory testing

Our laboratory checks raw materials and finished extracts. It also supports process development and production.

Products and supply

We supply voacangine and coronaridine as reaction-grade freebases, typically 95% purity or higher. Other purities are available.

Standard packaging is a 1 kg bag or 25 kg drum.
